Pakistan Stock Exchange market decline as traders remain cautious amid economic uncertainty
Pakistan’s stock market went down as investors trade carefully.

KARACHI: On Tuesday morning, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) was down. The main KSE-100 Index fell after starting weak.

By 1:00pm, it was at 177,982.68, down 279.65 points (0.16%) from the previous close of 178,262.33. Earlier, at 9:39am, it had dropped to 177,914.38, down 347.95 points (0.20%), before recovering slightly.

During the session, the index hit a high of 179,123.00 and a low of 177,903.87, showing ups and downs as investors were careful. But market action was still good, with 339.48 million shares traded, and the total value traded was about Rs19.71 billion.

Overall, investors were not very confident at midday. They took profits and were careful, which kept the main index under pressure even though it partly recovered from early losses.

People in the market are expected to watch what happens in the afternoon to see if the index can go up more or end the day lower.
